Shipyard “Morye”

Morye Shipyard

is a shipyard with more than 70-years-old experience in the sphere of commercial and military shipbuilding. The Shipyard has built more than 600 vessels and boats of different purposes since the moment of its foundation.
The activities of the Shipyard include all range of shipbuilding works: design, construction, modernization and technical service of vessels.
A convenient geographical location in the southeastern part of the Crimean peninsula, mild climate and non-freezing water area let all the vessels, both built and repaired at the Company’s territory reach the Mediterranean through Bosporus.
The shipyard’s personnel include people who are fond of the work they perform, which helps our company develop rapidly. More than 25 companies have already become the clients of the Shipyard.

Production Engineering

FSUE "Morye" Shipyard" acquired great experience in constructing and designing of both fast-speed military and civil ships, yachts and vessels. The shipyard has certificates of The Russian Maritime and River registers of shipping for designing, constructing boats, yachts and vessels and is the founding company in the Crimea f or designing and constructing vessels with dynamic principles of support.
The specialists of the Shipyard keep on constant fast-speed boats market monitoring, observe their production in operation, thus considering the requirements and desires of seamen operating these boats and vessels.
Boats and vessels, designed and constructed at FSUE "Morye" Shipyard", have high operational characteristics, correspond to the ergonomic demands, are convenient and simple in operation and are of high quality construction.
The concentration of all range of shipbuilding works within the Shipyard (designing, constructing, modernization and technical service) favors performing the works “turnkey” with a guaranteed quality.
Design and preparation to the production are carried out in atomized design systems, which help to create full documentation set and operating programs for plasma-arc cutting machines and numerical control machines.
Foil systems are considered to be one of the most difficult sections in shipbuilding. Here the surfaces of large dimensions and masses specific for hull structures are to be processed with accuracy applied in machine building.
When manufacturing foils the special high-strength and corrosion- resistant materials and extra high tensile titanium alloys are used.
For example, to make the foil (for “Olympia” hydrofoil vessel) which was of an original structure and had 12 m in length, application of electron-beam welding was required.
For several years FSUE "Morye" Shipyard" has been completing orders for construction of special deep submerged foils from titanium alloy. Some of the foils were ordered as experimental ones and the others – for passenger catamarans. These passenger vessels reach the speed of 55 knots.
The biggest foil system (12 х 6,5м) was delivered for a customer in USA in August, 2003. While completing the order SUE RC “Morye shipyard” pioneered the use of original technology for foils elements manufacture.
The workers of “Morye shipyard” have constructed about 100 foil systems for hydrofoils of “Raketa”, “Kometa”, “Olympia”, “Cyclone” types as well as for the boats and ships of military purpose.

12. History of Shipyard

On the 5th of October 1938 the government of the USSR issued the decree on establishment of the "Yuzhnaya Tochka" plant (FSUE "Morye" Shipyard" at present). During the World War 2 the plant was entirely destroyed. The plant restoration began 11 days after Feodosia had been set free from fascists. People were faced with great difficulties: there were no tools, materials, and electrical energy. Women and youngsters were those who restored the plant.
In 1947 the main profile of the plant was determined to be the production of high-speed vessels and ships of light alloys. Today the shipyard designs and builds vessels, dynamically supported crafts (hydrofoils, hovercrafts, cavity and planning boats), aluminum-magnesium alloys yachts and pleasure boats, it being the largest in the Crimea in its specialization.

Morye Shipyard -History

In the 40s-50s from the plant building berths over 200 torpedo boats «Komsomolets» were launched.
